i go through weird shopping stages. i save money for a while, and then all of sudden, i want to buy stuff. yesterday, i bought boots. really expensive boots. but, i've been working a lot lately, and sometimes we deserve to spoil ourselves. they look like this.
i can't wait.
i need to start exercising. i need to start eating better. i need to start getting haircuts regularly. i should probably stop watching too much TV. (house is on right now.) I should act nicer to people when they come to the bar. no one like a salty bartender. and for god's sake, i need to clean my room.
i work on halloween. we're allowed to dress up for work, but it has to be appropriate, of course. not that i'm prone to dressing up like a slutty nurse, slutty cop or (a newly discovered) slutty baseball player. i'm planning on dressing like a 50's housewife. could be fun.

i know it's been like 14 years since i've written in here. i guess a lot has happened...decided to take a year off school. i know...i'm a loser. just don't feel like i should finish for the sake of finishing right now. i am still shooting though. got a 4x5...and i'm in love. going to have a show at my mom's frame shop/gallery downtown in january. big time.
my car is in the dumps. it needs new brakes, but i almost feel like i shouldn't put anymore money into it...ehhh. i'm driving brennan's car for now since he's at work every day anyway. but i still feel bad.
i'm bartending at barley and hops now. hoorayy.
got an eye exam the other day. i should be getting my new glasses in a few days.
this news is just getting lamer and lamer.
i'm going on vacation with brennan next weekend to this place on the blueridge parkway. hopefully lots of shooting will occur. lakes and mountains. |

i had a dream about my dad that was very sad (i didn't mean for that to rhyme). i also had a dream about my boyfriend having sex with my roommate. this dream has happened before, but with a different roommate. maybe i'm subconsiously jealous?
meh. dreams are nuts. i think i'll do my senior thesis about them. |

so i dont think any of my friends actually read this anymore, but oh well. typing is fun, expecially when you're waiting for your photos to print and they're taking foreverrrrr. valuable time i could be spending driving home...anyways...not much is new. working, going to school. my finger isn't healed yet, even though its been over a month. assignments out the ass. one about home (which i pretty much always do work about anyway), a journaling assignment...and various other, more academically based ones.
i had a show 2 weeks ago. zach and emily and brennan came. it was fun.
it seems like every time i write in here i'm going to see beach house in a week. this is no exception. april 4th, black cat. yes.
nothing else to talk about, my prints are almost done. |

it's been a while. i slammed my finger in a car door last night and it hurts really bad.
hmmm. what else is new? been hanging out with my new roommate some and she's super cool.
tried to have a "party" for my birthday but it was pretty lame.
thinking of ideas for a project for the wall at school.
just got a tv in our bedroom. it's pretty much all i do now when i'm not at school.
beach house show next week. i dont go to shows ever, so i'm pretty psyched.
my brothers came home recently and we all got drunk together. it was weird and hilarious.
got new jeans. that's big news. i rarely change my jeans.

i just made a book in like 2 hours before class. i'm such a procrastinator. i should probably learn to budget time better....
in other news, i had a crit yesterday, it went alright. i procrastinated on that one too. this past month i've been really lazy. too much hanging out with brennan i guess.
i'm thirsty.
OH! and i got an ADVANCE copy of the new beach house record, for anyone who cares/has heard of/heard them. if you haven't, do it. please? |

in the darkroom. sometimes i forget that i really do like making art. even if it sucks. maybe i'm back in the groove? or maybe i'm just kidding myself. also, coca-cola is delicious. no one should ever drink pepsi.
i haven't actually taken pictures in a really long time. but that's ok, i'm using other things to make images with. it's sort of freeing in a way. but also pretty weird. we'll see if i can get myself shooting again.

halloween was fun last night. there will be pictures, i'm sure. brennan's costume was hilarious (a frenchman, complete with striped shirt and beret), mine was weird (a doll...sort of). cafe nola is fun. i got drunk. that's all.

my dreams are becoming more and more like reality these days. especially this mornings dreams. i wasn't sure what was real. it was awesome.
i'll post pictures of what im liking these days, i guess. i'm bored.
joanna newsom; frequenting my rotation of music yet again. every day i find another amazing line in a song from "milk-eyed mender." i.e. "some great bellies ache with many bumble bees, and they sting so terribly..."
chris lawson; visiting artist to our photo class last week. we made collages with him and talked. he's amazing. he does, among other things, much of the cd artwork for saddle creek bands. i was a fan and didn't even know it.
kittens; i want one. one day, i will have one. then he will grow into a cat. and i will love him.
tony bourdain; his show rules. i'm not sure why. it's just him going around, being a bastard, eating things and experiencing cultures. but he's way fucking better than andrew zimmern (who looks like a thumb), and he eats way better things. and he's way more bitter, which makes me like him. and he's more attractive.
irish car bombs; they taste good. chocolatey. and they're fun to drink because you get to drop something into something else.

not a lot happening. shooting. cyanotyping. sleeping. wearing my/our beach house shirt 2 days in a row. kind of slacking at school. drinking. lovvvvving.
i need new things to listen to. ive been listening to some augusten burroughs books on tape. some of them are good, some are whiney. i tire of hearing about his life with his boyfriend, his dogs, and his apartment in new york. dry was a good book.
i want new clothes! also i sort of want a video camera, although i'm not sure i'd know what to do with it. and a sewing machine. |

my once internet-addicted mind has since been reduced to a once a week fling at my moms house or the local library. i'm fine with that. i don't like being dependent on things anyway. so here i am, at the library. let's see here...i'm heading back to school in a few weeks. i miss everyone. nick anderson is not coming back, which i'm upset about, but i'm sure i'll still see him sometimes.
emily is home. jasen is home. exciting times. it's so hard to think of things to write about in here. hopefully as soon as school starts i'll have pictures and stories to post.
brennan is meeting my brother tomorrow. the first time my brothers have met any of my boyfriends. this is serious.
